THE COST OF WASTE AND CORRUPTION
TOTAL WASTE ON THIS PAGE...11,050,000,000...Over 11BILLION!!!
ARE WE A NATION OF COMPLETE GOBSHITES?!!!
I seriously didn't realise that it was this bad.
To use the vernacular that is forbidden by 'linguistic apartheid'...
For fuck's sake lads!
Decentralisation, where only a handful of people want to move, is another 'black hole'.
Residential Institutions Redress Board could cost
1.2 billion because our government are letting the crooked Catholic Church off the hook. The taxpayer will end up paying the bulk of the compensation when a couple of paintings from the vatican could pay the whole amount.
Overspend on roads 9bn...
Even if it's a gross exaggeration, it's still a SCANDAL!
There seems almost to be an attitude among this government that because there is plenty of funds in the Exchequer coffers that waste or overspending does not really matter. The reality, of course, is that every Euro wasted means a Euro less for other capital projects or for essential public services. According to the Public Accounts Committee the overspend on roads amounts to around 9bn. Just imagine how this 9bn could have been used to transform public transport in this country.

It is now planning to spend hundreds of thousands of euro on new booths for every electoral area nationwide, it was learned yesterday.

220m for ill-fated PPARS system...
HEALTH chiefs are refusing to ditch the beleaguered PPARS system - despite making contingency plans to spend millions on another computer to do the same work.
In an embarrassing U-turn, the chief executive of the Health Service Executive, Professor Brendan Drumm, has ordered staff to work to "realise the benefits" of PPARS, which has so far cost taxpayers more than 220m - and this despite personally calling a halt to its national rollout in 2005 as costs ballooned from an initial estimate of just 9m.

New road deal will cost us 713m, and tolls will stay...
SOLD. Toll bridge for 600m. One previous owner. Genuine 100,000 vehicles daily. Has potential to make loads of money for enterprising purchaser.
Once again, taxpayers will be fleeced to bale the Government out of another deep hole of its own making. By August next year it will be a case of 'the tolls are gone, long live the tolls'.
Buying back the Westlink toll at a cost of 50m a year for 12 years means the private tolls will merely be replaced by public tolls.
The deal being trumpeted by the Government will cost taxpayers 713m. in the process. And the infuriating bottom line is that we will still have to pay tolls on the bridge for many years to come.

THE GENEROSITY OF THE AVERAGE TAXPAYER KNOWS NO BOUNDS.
Our government tell us that the tribunals have, to a certain extent, paid for themselves by compelling the greedy wealth to pay up.
The reason the crooks were getting away with not paying proper taxes was because there was no will on the part of the Revenue Commissioners to go after them.
WONDER WHY THAT WAS?
There was no 'impediment' when it came to getting taxes from the average Joe Sixpack who could loose everything if he slipped up.
Joe's money went to pay Civil Servants a good salary and good pension to turn a blind eye to the GREEDY BASTARDS who got the lions share of the scarce resources of the nation when times were tough.
THIS REGIME IS STILL IN POWER!
