MorePAEDOS PROSPER IN SICK IRELAND...Irish Mirror 02 March 2007
The discovery of the Garda child sex ring was operating will come as a shock to many.
But it shouldn't. Ireland is the world leader when it comes to the exploitation of children and the protection of those who abuse.
Just as this country has become an attractive destination for business, the state and it's institutions go out of their way to facilitate the pervert.
We have 12% corporation tax to attract business, but but also have a low sentencing policy for sex offenders.
Even those convicted of the most heinous crimes against youngsters will barely get 10 years in jail.
Of course that's the higher end of the spectrum, Most child abusers will get less than 5 years. Many are given suspended sentences. The pervert coming here can also expect to be subsidized by the state and will be supplied with the best barrister in the land at the expense of the the taxpayer.
Ireland prides itself as a center of excellence when it comes to high-tech firms and we are a world leader in the software sector.
We are also at the cutting edge when it comes to procurement of child porn thanks to the liberalisation of the market here.
Most of those caught with the vilest filth on their computers will never go to prison. A suspended sentence is the norm.
Yesterday a serial child abuser Derry O'Rourke walked free from prison after serving just nine years for destroying the lives of many children.
He was given a 29 years sentence but ends up serving less than a third of that.
That's the liberalised market in child sex abuse for you. Every day paedophiles walk from Irish prisons without them having undergone any therapy which might help to curb their perversions.
Four years ago, Gardai working on a tip-off from police in the US, raided more than 100 addresses as part of Operation Amethyst.
Very few of those investigated ended up in court and only a handful actually went to prison. Of the few that did not one served more than two years.
Sicko Tim Allen, the husband of celebrity chef Darina, who was found to have obsene images of children as young as five engaging in gross sexual acts got nine months-suspended of course.
To misquote the good lord, it is easier to get a camel through the eye of a needle than get a rich man through the gates of Mountjoy.
Not one of those sentenced in the aftermath of Operation Amethyst is still in the slammer. Not a single one.
Former priest Paul McDaid is one of the few who did time.
He had several references in court including one from the Bishop of Derry, Dr. Seamus Hegarty who said McDaid's actions were out of character.
He added that McDaid had a positive contribution to make to the community. What like?
He got two years with six months suspended, just as a company might get as a tax break.
What the hell is the point of the Gardai rounding up this filth when the judges just give them a slap on their evil hands?
Those who buy child pornography are complicit in the abuse and often murder of youngsters.
The cash paid for child porn by Tim Allen and other perverts goes directly to kidnap and murder children.
Many paedophiles are now doing advanced computer courses, sponsored by the authorities here, so that they can stay one step ahead of the law.
Compare this to the situation in the US where perverts caught with child pornography often receive life sentences.
Last year a man in Arizona found with child pornography, no worse than the stuff Tim Allen had, was jailed for 200 years-without parole.
Morton Robert Berger is due for release on May 10, 2206, and not a day too soon.
Upholding the sentence, Arizona Supreme Court Judge W Scott Bales said: "Criminalizing the possession of child pornography is tied directly to the state's efforts to deter it's production and distribution".
If you were a paedophile where would you feel safer? Arizona or Ireland of the welcomes. Cead Mile Failte.
Now we found out yesterday that there are no laws to prevent perverts from soliciting children for sex.
Well surprise, surprise.
