29/05/03 Indo: Man gets life, probably about 8 yrs, after being convicted of murdering his 20 month old son by swinging him by the feet and bashing his head against a wall.
30/05/03 Indo: Front page shows pictures of junkies shooting up in Temple Bar, Dublin while two police officers stand a car length away. On pages 12 and 13 a series of pictures show the two police officers walking away while one of the gurriers pisses against the wall. (This activity apparently goes on nearly every day. We have a GREAT police force.)
30/05/03 Indo: Attacker loses appeal to have sentence reduced from 8.5 years after being convicted of leaving an Italian student brain damaged and in a wheelchair. (Recent radio talk show had Italian teacher explaining that when her students were last in Ireland they had to have police escort in some areas. These people are not coming here any more.)
04/06/03 Indo: Police find car bomb and weapons which, it is believed, was to be used in gang war in Limerick.

Probation report on the gurrier says that he is making "excellent progress". His victims don't seem to be making the same "excellent progress"

25/07/03 Indo:A number of men jump out of a car and attack another car being driven by a woman. This terrifying incident occured in Ennis town center during daylight. The windows of the car were smashed. In another incident in the town 6 men were arrested near the Court House after a mini riot broke out. These events are related to a feud between "traveler" families. (This behaviour is very common in this "ethnic group")

Here are contributions: Drug dealers openly doing business on Aston Quay....Security guard spotted dealing drugs at Jervis St. shopping center....Woman reported that, every day when she uses a certain bus, she has to turn off her mobile/cell phone for fear of being mugged for it and that smoking hash on the top deck is a regular feature....Man on mobile phone talking to Gerry Ryan live gave a comentary on a drug dealer doing business while a police woman was stopping traffic a few yards away....Another woman expressed her shock after witnessing a woman being mugged for her handbag in Tallagh and described how she had witnessed the cutting of tablets in a jail that she was visiting and that she was scared to walk to the local shop with her kids....This woman also told of an old lady who was mugged in the church while praying and had her handbag stolen.

22/10/03 Indo: Young teacher in critical condition after being kicked around the street because he challenged some people interfering with his car. His friend received a broken nose when he tried to help.
23/10/03 Indo:This case concerns two teenagers who were OUT ON BAIL for stealing cars and had between them 83 convictions including 15 for stealing cars when they were being chased by the police. They drove through a red light colliding with a taxi killing the driver and a third teenager who was in the stolen car having a bit of "fun". This taxi driver was the hard working father of a three yr old son who is still asking where his daddy is. He was working unsocial hours to make a living and to finance the imbecilic habits of the people who killed him through paying his taxes. After they pleaded guilty, the judge Desmond Hogan, sentenced Ross Byrne, the driver, to 7 years and James Daly to 3 years. ( Logic dictates that, with the convictions they had prior to the crash, they should have been doing 10 years each at the time of the crash. These sentences mean nothing! The legal "profession" have to keep the conveyer belt moving so that their source of wealth doesn't dry up.)
23/10/03 Indo: Solicitor/Lawyer for trial on child porn charges.
24/10/03 Daily Mirror: Claim that two girls aged 13 and 15 were gang raped in Bray, Co. wicklow. Locals say that the gang allegedly involved have been terrorizing their area for a number of months and have been responsible for assaults, car theft and attacks on homes. One woman who gave information to the police was forced to leave the area because of threats.

The two girls became separated while trying to retrieve a bag and mobile/cell phone which had been stolen from them by members of the gang. It appears that the 13 yr old was raped by one of the gang. Police investigating.
