ACHIVES OF EIRBIZ.COM...MONTH BY MONTH COMENTARY ON THE REAL IRELAND
OCTOBER 2006

She was a snob, fraud, show-off, and murderer...
Ruth Dudley Edwards on Countess Markievicz
(This is a typical example of the manipulation of 'Joe Sixpack'. It has been the same all over the world...romanticising the notion that if he kills some more 'Joes' on the other side everything will be hunky dorey. How is it that in conflict scenarios leaders are so willing to urge guys with no arse in their trousers to go out and try to kill others with no arse in their trousers and when it's all over they all come home to nothing with no arse in their trousers and every time that his nation's flag is produced or the war is mentioned his chest swells with pride. Of couse the leaders who send them to conflict seldom suffer any real hardship and generally go on to prosper while poor 'Joe' has the same struggle no matter who is in power.
I just hope that there is no other life form out there watching us!)

"There is absolutely nothing peaceable about her. She was staunch, self-indulgent and a bloodythirsty show-off who brainwashed children into believing that they must die for Ireland . . . she continued to murder after 1922 during the Civil War."

The criminals in the Vatican pray for buggered children
(Don't forget that these guys were wallowing in their self importance while kids were getting brutally sexually abused and THEY KNEW IT.
I wonder do the people who ARE STILL supporting this 'Divine Farce' have any idea of what's involved in the brutal rape of a small child...Denial seems to be a more virulent disease than relegion.)

The Pope had asked Bishop Brennan to assure those, who have been sexually abused by priests, of his concern for them and his deep regret at the harm and suffering they have experienced.
"His prayer at this time is for healing and peace of all those who have suffered," the statement added.

Rich get richer...poor get poorer
(We have a government of 'Profit before people'...When are the masses going to look for their share of the pie?)

DEEP divisions in Celtic Tiger Ireland are laid bare today.
Worrying statistics reveal that, behind the headline prosperity figures, there is a huge gap between rich and poor.
The Government's balance book has never been healthier but families are up to their eyes in debt.

The developers win again at the expense of the poorer classes.
(Could it be possible that the brown envelope is still doing the rounds? Authorities say it was a E10 million administrative error. And, like all county councils, the buck will be passed to Tom to Mick to Mary and all around the house until the whole episode is gradually forgotten about and no one person will ever have to accept responsibility.)

The mayor said that the whole affair was a “debacle” and that it was “despicable” that Navan was only getting 10 houses instead of the 85 which it had expected. “Somebody owes a big explanation as to what happened here. An Bord Pleanala made a blunder, a E10 million error. They should be asked to explain how this happened. If the official who made this blunder was in a private company, and the error was amounting to E10 million, he or she would be sacked,” he said.

THE CONTRAST: Welcome to ghost-town, Ireland 2006
Housing estates...no people...20% houses built last 4yrs...empty

But there is a bleakness in this seaside town caused by more than just the inclement weather. Above the cliffs on the main coastal road south, Courtown's new suburbia lies in darkness. Rows and rows of custom-built houses, their whitewashed walls stained and fading from neglect, stand abandoned in the bitter evening air, creating an eerie presence on the landscape.

How red tape is strangling our ailing medical system
(Hard to believe that this is Ireland 2006)

The babies wearing nothing but nappies in their uncovered cots, every window and door flung open because there is no air conditioning. The absence of privacy. Having to roll up the mattress on the floor where you sleep because there is no avenue for the nurse to approach your child's bed to replenish his drip every hour. The queues at A&E when you go to the shop for a bar of chocolate because the cafeteria is closed. The bleak 1950s arteries of the architecture.

Cullen in the dock as fifth crash victim dies
Village engulfed in grief and mourning at triple funeral
(It is estimated that there are over 400,000 drivers on Irish roads who are driving on Provisional Licences and who are legally obliged to be accompanied by the holder of a full licence. This law is rarely enforced. The position that has pertained for as long as I can remember is, that people...some as young as 17 yrs...who fail their driving test can get into their car alone and drive that vehicle as fast as it can go on the way home. 5 young men killed in crash...surprise, surprise!)

TRANSPORT Minister Michael Cullen was coming under unprecedented pressure last night to introduce draconian road safety measures as the Monaghan crash tragedy claimed its fifth victim.

Why the old and the sick are dying to get out of here . . .
(There are many old and sick people in Ireland with no money who can only go to a trolly in some A&E dept.)

The consultancy McKinsey believes that in India alone, medical tourism will be worth $2bn (€1.6bn) by 2012. And according to a recent report in the New York Times, one hospital in Bangkok - the Bumrungrad International Hospital - registered 55,000 American patients last year.

Services in peril after 25 attacks on buses
(Decent people again have to suffer because of the behaviour of a bunch of thugs...What would be wrong with locking them up and THEN rehabilitating them.)

BUS services for commuters in west Dublin could be curtailed over the Halloween weekend unless crews are better protected, a union official warned yesterday.

Prison for youths is 'a dreary, obscene disaster'
(Excuse me, I always thought that prison was about being locked up all day and not having access to ways to amuse yourself. If these 'do-gooders' get their way it will make prison more attractive than working. And what about the boredom suffered by the decent people of this country, many of whom are afraid to go out after dark because of the thuggery that takes place on our streets almost every night? I'm sure they could draw up a 'hard hitting report' as well.)

ST PATRICK'S Institution, the State's only prison for young offenders, has been branded "an obscenity" in a hard-hitting report by the Jesuits.

Warnings over child abusers' safe haven...Ireland
(Sure, haven't we been a safe haven for paedophiles for years...Ask our clergy!)

BRITISH and Northern politicians are calling on the Government here to urgently implement cross-Border legislation preventing the Republic becoming a haven for paedophiles.
He is the latest in a line of British paedophiles who have come to the Republic since Britain introduced a tight register system, in the wake of the Soham murders of Jessica Chapman and Polly Wells.

16.500 dogs put down

Judge Gillen , Northern Ireland's most senior family judge, said the public in both jurisdictions were was not ready to see children who commit rape, murder and robberies treated in any other way other than by the "judicial hammer".
(It cheers me no end to come across this scenario...That makes two of us who see this phenomenon develope.)
